"If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart." (Nelson Mandela)
Translations in over 30 languages
In addition to the core translators at IBS, our agency has a pool of freelancers from all over the world. All have been put thoroughly to the test by IBS, hold a language degree, have at least five years of professional experience and are specialised in the widest range of industries.
IBS focuses on the following languages, which can be divided into three groups:
1) The major working languages
Our core team of graduate translators works daily in the major languages used in international trade, law and research. These include:
The English language naturally plays a central role. It is currently the undisputed language of world trade and international relations. Companies with international locations increasingly use English as their corporate language, even if German, for example, is spoken at head office. IBS is prepared for this. Whether from German into English or from English into French. We can help you with any language combination: Your job is only entrusted to colleagues who are native speakers of the target language. In this way, we deliver your texts to the high standard of language that your target group demands from you.
2) World languages
Whatever other agencies may offer you, no one can handle the 6,500 languages that researchers estimate to exist worldwide - even a fraction of this is illusory. However, you can rely on IBS for all the major world languages. Our freelance translators, who are located around the world, have worked for us for many years with outstanding success. They all have a language degree, a minimum of five years of professional experience and work in the widest variety of specialist fields. The most frequently requested languages include:
3) Swiss national languages
As a Swiss company, the IBS translation agency is naturally well placed: Our national languages are second nature to us. In addition to French and Italian, you can even get texts from IBS in Swiss German or Rhaeto-Romanic on request. For translations from foreign languages into High German, we also pay special attention to the refined terminology specific to the country. This makes a small but subtle difference when comparing the results that a German agency may deliver, especially in legal and official documents.
